New media is a staple for getting news for this technology-driven generation. It is faster and easier to access then waiting for the paper each morning. While most oldies like to walk down the driveway on a cold morning, they could easily get the same news from the comfort of their computer or tv. Journalism has found a way to get the news out faster and more efficiently. I think that it is for the better because technology is taking over people’s lives and the next generation of kids will know how to look up a word on dictionary.com before they know how to do it using a real dictionary.
But could this mean the end of print journalism? While it may seem that way, I feel that there are enough diehard newspaper people to keep at least a few running. The ones that will thrive the most though are the local papers because they don’t have to cover everything that is going on in the world, just around town.
